The AIDSinfo HIV/AIDS Glossary app providesmobile access to definitions for more than 700 HIV/AIDS-relatedterms. The definitions are written in concise, easy-to-understandlanguage in both English and Spanish. The app offers people livingwith HIV/AIDS, as well as health care providers and students, anon-the-go guide to the complex terminology of HIV/AIDS.

NLM Malaria Screener is a diagnostic app that assists users in thediagnosis of malaria and in the monitoring of malaria patients. Theapp counts infected and uninfected red blood cells in blood smearimages captured by the smartphone camera when attached to theeyepiece of a microscope. It uses image analysis and machinelearning methods to identify individual cells and discriminatesbetween infected and uninfected cells. The app reports the detectedparasitemia to the user and stores it in a patient database,allowing monitoring of patients over time.
