Bardot was an Australian female pop groupwhichformed in 1999 on the original Australian reality televisionseriesof Popstars. Aired in early 2000, the program was a freshconcept toaudiences, attracting high ratings and much hype in themedia. Thisresulted in the instant success of their debut single"Poison" andself-titled debut album, both entering the Australianand NewZealand charts at number 1 and highly in parts of Asia. In2001,Bardot released their second album Play it Like That,featuring theTop 5 ARIA singles "ASAP" and "I Need Somebody", withgreatercreative control and this resulted in many strong reviews.Despitemaking the "mutual decision" to part ways in 2002, itremains themost successful act of all four Australian Popstarsseasons.
