Calculations are made assuming 60 degree Fahrenheit water; water atsignificantly different temperatures or liquids with differentspecific gravity may yield substantially divergent results. Pipingfriction loss is calculated using Hazen-Williams hydraulicequations—as the diameter of pumps get smaller than 3” or largerthan 12” there is less accuracy in the calculation that is notcorrected by the toolkit. Care should be used in comparing smalleror larger piping with the toolkit.
