Dennis Rodman (Born Dennis Keith Rodman onMay13, 1961, in Trenton, NJ) is one of the greatest rebounders evertoplay professional basketball. His rebounding exploits havedrawncomparisons with such legends as Wilt Chamberlain, MosesMalone,and Bill Russell, all of who were taller and heavier.SportsIllustrated once called Rodman "a sort of basketball genius."Adedicated analyst of the game and a tenacious defender, Rodmanledthe National Basketball Association (NBA) in rebounding forfourconsecutive years and helped lead his teams to fiveNBAchampionships. As his career went on, however, Rodman drewevermore attention for his off-court antics. "Icreatedsomething that everyone has been afraid of ... the DennisRodman Iwas born to be." However flamboyant his behavior might be,Rodmanoffers no apologies. He feels that he is fulfilling hismission inthe NBA as well--or better--than anyone. "I don't likepeople toget inside Dennis Rodman," he admitted in the AtlantaJournal. "Butonce I get on the court, I'm just taking the 22,000fans that arein the stands and putting them inside me. I like tosee peopleexcited and happy, and when they leave the arena theysay, 'God,that was a great game.'"
