This app called "Norway - North Cape 1 " is a series ofapp-guidededicated to the immense natural and cultural heritage ofNorthernNorway. In this video 1 we follow the route Honningsvåg -Gjesvaer -Kamoyvaer. While in the second app, "Norway - Head North2 ", wefollow the route Skarsvåg - Nordkapp (North Cape) with aseries ofcuriosity along the route.
ITINERARY
Arrive by plane from Oslo to Alta and continue Honningsvåg whichislocated on the island of Magerøya, which for some yearswasconnected with a tunnel to the mainland and so, you can reachbycar.
HONNINGSVÅG - is a village of 3200 inhabitants located inthemunicipality of Nordkapp, the northernmost municipality ofNorway,in the county of Finnmark and here, there are all basicservices.Honningsvåg is located 35 km from the North Cape(Nordkapp)
GJESVAER - is an ancient fishing village located 35 kmfromHonningsvåg. Refer to n.1 in the map.
KAMØYVAER - This tiny village is located a few kilometersfromHonningsvåg, offers the opportunity to see up close the gullsofthe species "tridactile", or kittywake. Indeed, immediatelyafterturning right at the junction with the highway meet somecoloniesof these birds chose to nest among the cliffs in front offishingindustry, who visit periodically, hovering above yourhead,heedless of your presence. A little further if you love artorwhimsical souvenirs, visit the nice gallery "East of theSun".
NOTES
Restaurants, hotels, campsites and tourist services are theisland'smain sites. Please remember to bring warm clothes with youbecauseeven if the weather is nice not to forget that thevariability ofweather here is the main rule. Respect nature and donot light firesexcept where strictly allowed.
