PewDiePie specializes in Let's Play videosof the horror and action video game genres. His channel is one ofthe fastest growing YouTube channels, having grown from 3.5 millionsubscribers to 19 million in 2013. Since 15 August 2013,PewDiePie's channel has been the most subscribed channel onYouTube, being surpassed briefly in November and December 2013 byYouTube's Spotlight channel. Holding the position since 23 December2013, the channel has reached over 31 million subscribers, as ofSeptember 2014.[11]

On 19 July 2014, the channel surpassed RihannaVEVO to become themost viewed channel of all time.[12] As of September 2014, thePewDiePie channel has received over 6.2 billion videoviews.[11]
