The rotator cuff consists of a group of 4muscles that help to hold the shoulder joint together and allow itto function. These muscles include the supraspinatous,infraspinatous, teres minor and subscapularis. A rotator cuffinjury occurs when you strain or tear the tendon or the fibers ofone or more of these muscles.
This application provides an overview of this injury, includinggeneral information, assistance with pain control and a treatmentapproach.
Detailed information has been included on how to recover from thisproblem. Range of motion, strengthening and stability exercises areincluded in the application. A video of each exercise has beencreated describing each exercise in detail to help ensure properform and technique. Over 40 exercises have been included to helppromote a full recovery. Randy Cohen ATC, DT, DPT
Dr. Randy Cohen is a licensed athletic trainer and licensedphysical therapist. He has a bachelor’s degree in Athletic Trainingand a doctorate in Physical Therapy. He has over 20 years ofcollege sports medicine experience. Dr. Cohen is currently theAssociate Athletic Director for Medical Services at a majorDivision I University.

David Millward, MD, MS
Dr. David Millward is a physician and has a university basedpractice. He received his medical degree from the University ofOttawa, in Ottawa, Canada. He did his residency at the Universityof Arizona in Family Medicine and is board-certified by the Academyof Family Practitioners. In addition, he completed a fellowship insports medicine at the University of Arizona. Dr. Millwardspecializes in primary care and sports medicine. He is an assistantteam physician for a major Division I University. He has a master’sdegree in Epidemiology from Michigan State University and hasseveral active research projects.
