I am talking about building simple book shelves and puttingcasterson them so you can pull them out and in as you please andmakingpanels to put on the ends of the " bookshelves" so when theyareshut, they appear to be raised panels under your stairs, givingyouthat elegant look anyone can appreciate!

I recently built one for my In laws. What I did to makeeverythingeasier for myself was take accurate measurements of thespace. Imeasured the heights of both ends, the width, and measuredthedepth. I put a level on the floor to see if the floor was closetolevel. That step is very important! If your floor is out oflevelbad and you don't take in account for that, getting the panelstoline up will be extremely hard to do.

Once I got the exact measurements, I laid out the opening onmyworkshop floor with tape. In doing so I was able to get theprecisemeasurements for the cabinets. I was able to use that to gettheaccurate measurements for the end panels as well. I was alsoableto use the layout to figure spacing between each cabinetandspacing with the panels. Believe me, if I hadn't laid it out onthefloor first, I wouldn't have been able to do the build at myshop.Plus, being able to visualize it, it allowed me to planaheadbetter.

By making a storage system like this, it allows you to beorganized,it adds great storage space to your home, and whenclosed no one cantell that you have shelving under your stairs.The best part, itlooks absolutely fantastic.
