Il Sud Salento sta ad indicare un’areageografica di particolare interesse culturale e ambientale compresanel meraviglioso triangolo che affonda nei mari Ionio e Adriatico ei cui vertici sono costituiti da Gallipoli, Otranto e Santa Mariadi Leuca, con al centro Maglie e Casarano. Si tratta di una terradel tutto speciale: il Salento “de finibus terrae”.
Un vasto elenco di categorie tematiche e di punti di interesse sonopresenti nelle città più grandi, ma anche nelle più piccolelocalità della costa e dell'entroterra. Tanti gli itineraripossibili: i megaliti (dolmen, menhir e specchie) qui presenti piùche altrove in Puglia; gli insediamenti rupestri con cripte echiese stupendamente affrescate; le torri, i castelli e i palazzibaronali; le tradizioni e il folklore sedimentatisi nei secoli sonoun’occasione per ascoltare la musica tipica salentina, la pizzica,per acquistare i prodotti locali e per assaggiare le specialitàdella cucina tradizionale salentina.
Questa prima versione della guida Sud Salento contiene più di 130punti d’interesse di Casarano, comune capofila dell’Area Vasta SudSalento (cosa vedere – dove mangiare e dove dormire – cosacomprare). Dei restanti 65 comuni è stata realizzata lapresentazione con la possibilità di essere guidati al centro dellalocalità capoluogo. Man mano tutti i comuni assumeranno ledimensioni e la forma della guida di Casarano.
