Unity FM St.Lucia is a newly established 24 hour a day radiostationwhich is at present broadcasting online atwww.unityfmstlucia.com.However, management is in the process ofproviding permanentheadquarters to allow for full operation. Thiswe expect will bedone soon. in the vicinity of Castries.
We understand that the economic climate in which we currentlylivemakes it difficult for companies to provide sponsorshipintraditional ways and, therefore, will accept any means ofsupportthat is convenient to you.
Our Mission.
Unity FM will be a radio station with a unique identity. Thiswillmostly be due to its programming. While essential serviceslikenews, sports, community notices and obituaries will beprovided, agreater attempt will be made to add depth and context tothem. Manyother programmers will in an interactive way – highlightandembrace various facets of development and community life in asmanysettlements around the island as possible. A special attemptwillbe made to feature organizations such as mothers’ andfathers’groups, sports clubs, youth organizations, fund raisingventuresand even things like roadside barbecues and karaoke showstomention just a few.
At UnityFM we understand the power of language and thereforewillprovide programming bilingually with emphasis on specifickweyolprogrammers and news. A wide range of musical genres willbefeatured but at airtime that are likely to be appeal totheaficionados of each one. We also intend to observe thestrictestproduction values guiding our announcers and DJs to adoptbothtraditional and modern presentation styles.
Our flagship programme is entitled-Real Talk, a 45minutediscussion with a studio guest highlighting personallifeexperiences, achievements, challenges, successes to nameafew.
Voice of the People is another programme whereparliamentarians,community workers, NGO representatives, etc, willbe invited toanswer to the public regarding their responsibilitiesand theservices they provide. it will put the issues currentlyconfrontingthe society under Unity FM’s microscope. These experts,will beexpected to dissect complex issues in a way that everydaypeoplecan understand.
Know Your Rights- For this programme we will invitelegalprofessionals to discuss legal issues and provide guidelinesonvarious legal matters and how they impact the public. This alsobea calling programme.
Community Outreach- This programme will highlightcommunityactivities island wide, utilizing the expertise ofcommunityactivists, members of various groups, etc.
