Kevin figures out that Ben is inside theUltimatrix.Gwen thinks that they should go in after Ben, but Kevinthinks thatthey would be trapped in forever. Five years after the original series, 15-yearold Ben Tennyson has returned to a normal, everyday life.His adventures all done, He has taken off the Omnitrix and hasgrown from a young boy into a confident teenager;however, the mysterious disappearance of Grandpa Max makes Ben10put the Omnitrix back on, as well as forcing him, his cousin Gwen,and his old enemy Kevin to search and locate Grandpa Max.At the same time, they must enlist the help of the Plumbers' kids(children or grandchildren of retired Plumbers which are commonlyhalf human and half alien) and repel attacks from a new enemy, theHighbreed.In the third and final season, Vilgax returns as the mainantagonist, forcing Ben, Gwen and Kevin to tackle bigger problemsand find out more secrets about the Omnitrix.In the series finale, The Final Battle, Ben faces Vilgax again intheir final battle, destroying the Aliens Force in theprocess.At the end, Ben10 is now armed with a new Omnitrix called theUltimatrix.When the Omnitrix was recalibrated it gained a more watch-likeshape, a green wristband, and became smaller and sleeker with theface plate becoming black and green.The inside of the hourglass shape on the face now glows indifferent colors at special moments; these colors signify the statethat the Omnitrix is in.The display mode of alien-shaped black silhouettes printed on theface has been replaced by a dark green 3D hologram hovering abovethe watch,giving a more detailed look of the selected alien.The new Omnitrix also functions as a Plumber's badge which is usedin the series as a communicator, a detector of other Plumber'sbadges,an alien-language translator, and as a key for accessing theExtranet, an intergalactic Internet.In Ben10, the reason Azmuth invented the Omnitrix was for all thebeings of the universe to better understand each other.It was revealed in Battle Ben10 vs Aliens Force that there wasanother reason for the creation of the Omnitrix.Azmuth tells Ben that the Omnitrix was invented to preserve the DNAof all living beings in the Milky Way Galaxy and restore them ifthey should ever become extinct.
