AED-Gerätesind Laiendefibrillatoren und können somit nicht nur von Fachleutenbedient werden. Unmittelbar nach Eintritt eines solchen Ereignisseswären bis zu 80% der betroffenen Personen durch unverzüglicheingeleitete Massnahmen reanimierbar. Tatsächlich aber überlebtenim Jahre 2005 gesamtschweizerisch lediglich 5% der Patienten einenKreislaufstillstand. Die geographische Verteilung der Bevölkerungund auch der Stützpunkte der Rettungsdienste sind sehrunterschiedlich. Entscheidend für das Überleben sind die rascheAlarmierung der professionellen Rettungsdienste sowie unverzüglichbegonnene und ohne Unterbruch fortgeführteWiederbelebungsmassnahmen. Um Personen mit einem plötzlichen Herz –Kreislaufstillstand so schnell wie nur irgend möglich zu erreichen,wurden durch die regionalen Rettungsdienste freiwillige Gruppenrekrutiert und ausgebildet, welche im Ereignisfall durch dieSanitätsnotrufzentrale 144 Bern alarmiert werden. Mit dieserApplikation werden in Sekunden freiwillige Laienhelfer in derRegion des Notfalles alarmiert, welche das therapiefreie Intervallbis zum Eintreffen des Rettungsdienstes massiv verkürzen können.Mit dieser Applikation können in kürzerer Zeit und schneller mehrFirstresponder alarmiert werden. Im Tessin stieg dieÜberlebenswahrscheinlichkeit bei einem plötzlichen Herz –Kreislaufstillstand auf über 40%.
