Description

----------------------------------------------------------------------Features----------------------------------------------------------------------ExposurePalis a simple but powerful photography exposure calculator, whichallows to calculate the equivalent exposure parameters, for a givenshot. This is particularly useful for astrophotography, or everytime you want to calculate a precise configuration (in terms ofaperture, ISO, shutter speed, ND filters) for a very long exposure, beyond the common limits of a camera.ExposurePal it's also usefulto check the Ev of a given configuration, or to find aconfiguration that meets a given Ev.The application integrates analarm clock which will become available only above 3 seconds, as itwouldn't be that helpful for shorter time frames. An icon willappear on the right of the resulting ShutterSpeed.----------------------------------------------------------------------Howitworks----------------------------------------------------------------------Slideup/down to set the Aperture, Shutter speed, ISO and ND Filter forthe first exposure (on the top). Set Aperture, ISO and ND for theequivalent exposure. The Shutter speed will be automaticallycalculated as well as the Ev.Please note, given that a cameradoesn't have all the possible values of Shutter/Aperture/ND, theapplication will calculate the closer value. The Ev value willhighlight this with different colors.Same color for the exactvalue, orange for a very small variation, purple for a bigvariation.----------------------------------------------------------------------Precisionandapproximations----------------------------------------------------------------------Somecombinations can't be resolved, given camera speed limits (usually1/4000 or 1/8000).Consider the following extreme example. For thefirst exposure Aperture:2 Shutter:1/50 ISO:100 ND:noneFor thesecond, Aperture: 2 ISO:51200 Filter:noneThe Ev and the time willbe displayed with purple text, to indicate that normally a cameracan't get under 1/8000, so the application can't find a real valuesmaller than 1/8000, that can be used to get a more preciseequivalentexposure.----------------------------------------------------------------------Workingwith NDfilters----------------------------------------------------------------------Pleasenote that ND filters stops don't perfectly match the number theyclaim.A 10 stops filter will more than likely be slightly over, forinstance. This will drive to very small imperfections in theequivalent exposure. If you prefer to test it yourself, you can trya quick test.Take a shot with your camera, in stable conditions oflight and on a tripod.Mount your X stops ND filter and compensatethe reduction of light of exactly X stops (I suggest to use time,as the aperture will affect vignetting, which will slightly affectthe exposure).Take the same shot.Compare the 2 shots histograms.Forthe most of the filters you will note a slightoffset.----------------------------------------------------------------------Feedbacks----------------------------------------------------------------------Ifyou find it doesn't do what it claims or you found bugs, pleaseleave a feedback with details. This will help fixing the issues andmake the app better for everyone. If you're happy, please rate it 5stars.----------------------------------------------------------------------Don'ts----------------------------------------------------------------------DON'Tleave a low rating because it doesn't have a 'nice to have' featurethat you may like.
