The Validate for HS2 QR only app allowsanyoneto check their own Validate smartcard to view theircurrentcompetences.

The app also allows authorised card checkers to undertake a rangeofother activities. These are:
authenticating their team by checking their cards
undertaking spot checks
managing access control in and out of work – for bothcardholdersand visitors
recording the addition of locally-delivered training(e.g.inductions and briefings).

All card checking and reading activities areautomaticallysynchronised to the Validate for HS2 database toprovide full auditrecords for clients.

This app allows card reads and visitor pass checks to befacilitatedusing the unique QR code printed on the front of theValidatesmartcard or on the visitor pass.
Internet comms must be available when the QR code is checkedinorder for the database record to be verified online.
However once a Validate smartcard has been verified initiallyusingonline comms, the data is cached within the app for reviewevenwhen comms might not be available.

This app can be used with any Android smartphone or tablet(Android4 and above) with a rear-facing autofocus camera.

All smartcard checking activities are uploaded automatically tothedatabase when an internet connection is present or will beuploadedlater when connectivity is restored by re-launching theapp.

Make sure that NFC is enabled on your device;2. Open the app;3. Hold a Smartcard to the back, near the top, of yourdevice;4. An image of the card appears. (If the photo shown does not matchthe one shown on the front of the actual card, it has probably beentampered with and may be a fake card.);5. Touch the Card Details tab to view the list of currentqualifications.6. Do the same with more smartcards if you need to.To read a Virtual Smartcard:1. Open the app;2. Touch the ‘SCAN A QR CODE button;3. Read the QR code (from approx. 10cm away);4. An image of the card appears. (If the photo shown does not matchthe one on the cardholder’s phone, it is a fake card.);5. Touch the card image to view the back of the card;6. Touch the Core Data tab to view qualifications;7. Touch the SkillSight tab, if one is present, to view furtherqualifications for the cardholder;8. Repeat this process to read more virtual smartcards.Additional functionality and settings accessed via the drop-downmenu are:1. List cards - shows all the cards you have read;a. Time and Attendance 2.1 APK
The Time and Attendance app enables the useofCSCS compatible smartcards to record details of when workersenterand leave site by swiping in and out using an NFCenabledsmartphone or tablet.Attendance data including who was onsite, where, when and forhowlong can then be generated along with an evacuation list incase ofemergency. A csv file can then be created for easydistribution.Using the Time and Attendance app is easy, simply enableyourdevice’s NFC functionality and then:1. Open the app;2. To swipe in, hold each smartcard to the back ofyourdevice;3. To swipe out, sweep the screen to the left until the ‘Out’symbolturns blue, and then hold a smartcard to the back ofyourdevice;4. To view the details of an individual, just tap on the imageoftheir card;5. To see the reverse of their card, tap the image;6. To view their swipe in and out activities, sweep the screentothe left.Additional functionality and settings can be accessed viathesub-menus.
