Major enterprise organizations are aiming to facilitate campus andoffice complex -based collaboration (aka ‘crowd-sourcing’) throughconsumer-oriented smartphone applications and to leverage them as aviable mechanism for gathering and disseminating information. In response, Infor is now offering Infor Mobile Work Request as analternative to traditional call-in type of communication with andorganizations facility departments.  Infor Mobile Work Requestis specifically designed for enterprise organizations that wish toempower their employees to quickly and accurately generate servicerequests using their personal smartphones.  Employees can nowserve as personal guardians for their own campus and facilities byquickly identifying general problem issues and reporting them backto their companies Infor EAM system to initiate quick resolutionand repair. Empowering the Crowd• Employees can capture theexact service request location through the Global Position System(GPS) receiver built into their Smartphone.  The location canbe used immediately to create a service request or stored in alocation catalog for later use.• Employees can also capture andattach a photograph to the service request in real-time or select apreviously taken photograph from the smartphone’s photo library.•Employees can additionally provide text comments and/or contactinformation as optional information to include with each servicerequest, as well as review the current status of previouslysubmitted service requests and view the location of all activeservice requests for the selected Jurisdiction.• Infor Mobile WorkRequest also enhances the cool factor of organizations by appealingto a younger and more tech-savvy constituency as well as engenderstronger community-type  collaboration and interaction throughthe smart and effective use of consumer-centric technology.TheInfor Mobile Work Request infrastructure is cloud-based, running24/7/365 on Microsoft’s Windows Azure Cloud ComputingPlatform.  This means that no additional hardware needs to beprocured, provisioned and/or supported to use the solution. Service requests are automatically routed through the cloud to theappropriate Hansen instance based upon configuration settings andthe service request location.
