The Iowa Paralyzed Veterans of America (IPVA) is a non-profitorganization and is one of 34 chapters which represents ournational organization, Paralyzed Veterans of America. Ourmembership is free and consists of veterans of the United StatesArmed Forces who have suffered a spinal cord injury or received adiagnosis of disease affecting the spinal cord.By downloading thisapp you will be donating to the Iowa Chapter of Paralyzed Veteransof America. This app is part of a fundraising effort organized bythe Cedar Rapids, Iowa Eagle Riders Group to support the Iowa PVA.This app will keep you informed of IPVA fundraising events,important IPVA events and provide app users a way to donatedirectly to the IPVA. App users will see notifications of upcomingevents, real time updates as events are underway, directions to theevents, and much, much more.All donations made through this app aredeposited directly into the Iowa Chapter of Paralyzed Veteranschecking account and all moneys donated directly to the IPVA stayin Iowa for the support of our paralyzed veterans.The Cedar RapidsEagle Riders are working to assist us through fundraising andencouraging others to hold events in support of Iowa PVA. It is ourpleasure to share with you an overview of organization and a few ofthe primary projects and programs we provide to assist our veteranmembers:Providing a National Service Officer to assist veterans inthe processing of their claims through the VeteransAdministrationSponsoring athletes who attend the National VeteransWheelchair Games and other sporting or recreational eventsProvidingfunds for patient programs at both the Des Moines and Iowa CityVAMCs, and at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown.Providingfunds for medical personnel to attend special training seminarsdealing with the care and treatment of spinal cordinjuries/dysfunction.Providing funds for foundations andcorporations who promote finding a cure and/or improving thequality of life for those with catastrophic spinal cord injuries ordiseases (these include both national and local researchprojects)Providing education and advocacy to the community at largeto improve the accessibility to public and private institutions forall disabled individuals.Sponsoring social activities for ourmembers and their families.Iowa PVA relies solely on privatedonations and receives no governmental funding. All contributionstax deductible, as we are a 501(c)(3) corporation.
