Shani Mantras | OFFLINE | HD Audio | Repeat | FREE | HD God imageShani is a Deva and son of Surya and his wife Chhaya, hence alsoknown as Chayyaputra. He is the elder brother of Yama, the Hindugod of death, who in some scriptures corresponds to the deliveranceof justice. Surya's two sons Shani dev and Yama judge. Shani devgives the results of one's deeds through one's life throughappropriate punishments and rewards; Yama grants the results ofone's deeds after death. It is said that when Shani dev opened hiseyes as a baby for the very first time, the sun went into aneclipse, which clearly denotes the impact of Shani dev onastrological charts. He is known as the greatest teacher and wellwisher for the righteous as well the greatest punisher for thosewho follow the path of evil, betrayal, backstabbing and unjustrevenge. Shani is also known as the lord of masses & God ofPunishment and his blessings are thus considered very important inan individual's horoscope for bestowing him with mass following andpopularity. He is depicted dark in colour, clothed in black;holding a sword, arrows and two daggers and mounted on a crow,which is Shani's vāhana. As protector of property, Shani dev isable to repress the thieving tendencies of birds. Shani as a planetappears in various Hindu astronomical texts in Sanskrit, such asthe 5th century Aryabhatiya by Aryabhatta, the 6th century Romakaby Latadeva and Panca Siddhantika by Varahamihira, the 7th centuryKhandakhadyaka by Brahmagupta and the 8th century Sisyadhivrddidaby Lalla.[3][4][5] These texts present Shani as one of the planetsand estimate the characteristics of the respective planetarymotion.[3] Other texts such as Surya Siddhanta dated to have beencomplete sometime between the 5th century and 10th century presenttheir chapters on various planets as divine knowledge linked todeities.[3] The manuscripts of these texts exist in slightlydifferent versions, present Shani's motion in the skies, but varyin their data, suggesting that the text were open and revised overtheir lives. The texts slightly disagree in their data, in theirmeasurements of Shani's revolutions, apogee, epicycles, nodallongitudes, orbital inclination, and other parameters.[6] Forexample, both Khandakhadyaka and Surya Siddhanta of Varaha statethat Shani completes 146,564 revolutions on its own axis every4,320,000 earth years, an Epicycle of Apsis as 60 degrees, and hadan apogee (aphelia) of 240 degrees in 499 CE; while anothermanuscript of Surya Siddhanta revises the revolutions to 146,568,the apogee to 236 degrees and 37 seconds and the Epicycle to about49 degrees.[7] Shani's gravitational power is more than that of theEarth's. Therefore, when we think good or bad thoughts and makeplans, they reach Shani by the strength of his power. Inastrological terms, the bad influence is considered as unlucky. Butthe result of good deeds will be good. Therefore, we mustunderstand God Shani as a friend and not as foe. And for bad deeds,he is Sade Saathi, disaster and an enemy.

She has remained significant as a goddess from the Vedicperiod through modern times of Hindu traditions.[5] Some Hinduscelebrate the festival of Vasant Panchami (the fifth day of spring)in her honour,and mark the day by helping young children learn howto write alphabets on that day. The Goddess is also revered bybelievers of the Jain religion of west and central India,[8] aswell as some Buddhist sects. Saraswati who is revered as a goddessof knowledge, music and arts is also found outside Nepal and India,such as in Japan, Vietnam, Bali (Indonesia) and Myanmar. Saraswati,sometimes spelled Sarasvati, is a Sanskrit fusion word of Sāra(सार) which means essence, and Sva (स्व) which means one self, thefused word meaning "essence of one self", and Saraswati meaning"one who leads to essence of self knowledge". It is also a Sanskritcomposite word of surasa-vati (सुरस-वति) which means "one withplenty of water". The word Saraswati appears both as a reference toa river and as a significant deity in the Rigveda. In initialpassages, the word refers to Sarasvati River and mentioned withother northwestern Indian rivers such as Drishadvati. Saraswatithen connotes a river deity. In Book 2, Rigveda calls Saraswati asthe best of mothers, of rivers, of goddesses.[16] अम्बितमे नदीतमेदेवितमे सरस्वति |
– Rigveda 2.41.16 Best Mother, best of Rivers,best of Goddesses, Sarasvatī, We are, as ’twere, of no repute anddear Mother, give thou us renown. Saraswati is celebrated as afeminine deity with healing, purifying powers of abundant, flowingwaters in Book 10 of Rigveda, as follows: अपो अस्मान मातरःशुन्धयन्तु घर्तेन नो घर्तप्वः पुनन्तु |
विश्वं हि रिप्रं परवहन्तिदेविरुदिदाभ्यः शुचिरापूत एमि ||
– Rigveda 10.17 May the waters, themothers, cleanse us,
may they who purify with butter, purify uswith butter,
for these goddesses bear away defilement,
I come upout of them pure and cleansed.
