Description

There are intense automatic data collections and onlinecomputingprocesses on MindRoad backend. In the app only the finalresultsare reflected in a graph format. At the moment MindRoad onlyworksfor NSW because of data collection limitations but can bemodifiedfor any other region in the world. On a daily basis all thetweetsposted in Sydney region are automatically scripted fromTwitter APIand stored in a server. Also, every hour travel times onmaincorridors in Sydney are automatically collected from GoogleMapsAPI and kept on the server. In the app, when a keyword isenteredby a user, MindRoad communicates with the server and filtersthetweets that have the entered keyword. Then calls a wellestablishedNatural Language Processing (NLP) library andautomaticallyanalyses the context of the filtered tweets and scoreseach of theselected tweets a value between -1 to +1. If a tweetconveys astrong positive opinion receive +1 score and respectively-1 for astrong negative opinion. A tweet might also receive a scorebetween-1 and +1 based on its context. The summary of alltheabove-mentioned process is illustrated in a graph on the mainpageof the app. The graph shows public opinion changes versusaveragetravel times. This app particularly focuses on WestconnexandNorthConnex projects at the moment and the average travel timesforthis two projects are more accurate than other keywords.
