Based in Clackmannanshire, Scotland, the Ochils LandscapePartnership celebrates the landscape, heritage and people of theOchils and Hillfoots. The fundamental aims of the Partnership areto increase access to the hills and glens of the Ochils, encourageexploration of the Hillfoots, improve the quality of our rivers,and restore and conserve key parts of the historic built landscape.The projects are underpinned by community involvement andvolunteering. The three new trails created by the Ochils LandscapePartnership are the Hillfoots Diamond Jubilee Way, the River DevonTrail and the Kirkyards Trail. The Hillfoots Diamond Jubilee Way isa 22km route from Logie in the west to Muckhart in the east. Itroughly follows the route of the old King's Highway, the likelyroute of royal progresses between Stirling Castle and FalklandPalace. The River Devon Trail is a waymarked route through theRiver Devon corridor from Glenfoot / Tillicoultry in the west toVicar's Bridge in the east, offering spectacular views of theOchils and the opportunity to explore the river environment. TheKirkyards Trail offers insightful interpretation of 7 historickirkyards in the Hillfoots. There is much to see, from Viking-agehogbacks to an array of spectacularly carved trade and mortalitystones from the 16th - 18th centuries.
