Phendo - A study to track, manage, and understand endometriosis.Phendo is an observational research study to establish a catalog ofthe signs and symptoms of endometriosis as experienced by you,people with endometriosis. In addition, opportunities to reflectupon your collected data may help you in managing your disease.Columbia University invites you to join this study aboutendometriosis to enhance understanding about the disease. You cantrack your experience of endometriosis in Phendo at yourconvenience, track more or fewer signs, symptoms, and selfmanagement information, or stop tracking at any time. How thisstudy works: - You will be able to join the study after signing theconsent form. - We will ask you to track individual instances ofsymptoms and signs of the disease as well as medications as theyoccur using the “track this moment” feature. - We will ask you totrack endometriosis symptoms and signs of the disease andself-management at a daily level through “track this day”. - Youwill be able to review items through time as you enter them intothe app. - All information collected will be stored separately fromuser name using an id number. Who is eligible to participate? -Adolescents and adults who have reached the onset of menarche, thatis, who have had at least one menstrual period. Researchparticipants are individuals who experience endometriosis-relatedsymptoms in the past three months. Research controls areindividuals who have not. - Those under the age of 18 will needparental permission to participate, and parents or guardians willbe asked to co-sign consent. Who is running this study? -Researchers from Columbia University’s Department of BiomedicalInformatics as part of the Citizen Endo research project.
