The original Doom 2 WAD works fine- This port doesn'tuse an opengl renderer, but uses (an improved version of) theoriginal Doom engine 100% software renderer. Because of this, it isquite CPU intensive so you may find you need to reduce theresolution a bit if you experience performance problems unless youhave a high-end phone. - The original engine code only allows youto look left and right, not up and down, I have worked around thisto some extent by shifting the view up/down when you look up anddown, but it isn't as natural. Unfortunately this is unavoidablewithout an opengl es 2.0 renderer.- FOV: Again because of the useof the original Doom software renderer FOV cannot be changed. Onsome phones it will mean it is a bit like looking through a largewindow at the game, I am afraid this is unavoidable without anopengl es 2.0 renderer which could take me months to write.- Onlycertain WADs have thumbnails, if you would like a wad to have athumbnail added in the WAD chooser screen, then please let me knowthe name of the WAD and the thumbnail image and I will add it in afuture releaseLegal Stuff:As the original Doom engine sourcecode isnow GPL licensed, the full source for DVR is available in anarchive found in the assets folder contained in the apk.If you haveissues, please send mail to the following address and I willendeavour to resolve them as soon as I can, within reason:[email protected] is a registered trademark of id Software /ZeniMax Media Inc.DVR is not endorsed by, associated with, or inany way affiliated with id software or ZeniMax MediaInc.Screenshots are all taken from DVR running the Freedoom WADs.
