Description

The Flicker Fusion Threshold (FFT) is a commonly used measure ofperceptual acuity that records the speed at which a flashing lightcan still be perceived as flickering and does not appear to havefused into a single image. The FFT has been found to be sensitiveto a number of factors, including drugs, age, and fatigue (Simonson& Brozek, 1952; Davis, 1955). Perhaps due to the relationshipbetween intelligence and information processing speed (Fry, 2000),the FFT has also been found to correlate with intelligence aptitude(Cautela & Barlow, 1965).The Rotation Flicker app provides amodified version of the FFT test that measures the speed at whichtwo alternating objects (images of propellers that alternate inposition) are perceived to be rotating in motion (due to the phiphenomenon and stroboscopic effect) and do not appear to be justflickering in place. For more information, go to:https://sites.camosun.ca/michaelpollock/apps/

Decider 2.1 APK
According to Julian Rotter, the founder of modern-daySocial-Cognitive Theory, the choices we make are determined by acombination of two types of variables: Value and Expectancy (seeRotter, 1954, "Social Learning Theory"). Value refers to how muchwe desire or dread the possible outcomes of a given action.Expectancy refers to how likely we think these possible outcomesare to occur.Based on this theory, humans should always make thebest decisions possible given their current state of knowledge. However, in our everyday life we are often unknowingly swayed inour choices by impulses, habits, and compulsions that are notalways in our best interest for attaining what we value the most. The Decider app helps to correct these errors in decision-making byrationally weighing your value and expectancy of the possiblepositive and negative outcomes for a given action.Rather thansimply comparing the number of pros and cons for a given action, the Decider app calculates a decision score based upon amathematical formulation of Rotter's Social-Cognitive Theory (for afurther description of this formula, please visithttps://sites.camosun.ca/michaelpollock/apps/).
