Description

Stopwatch & Scanner are a set of tools designed to make yourSaturday morning parkrun run smoother. It is designed with eventteams in mind but can be used by anyone. There is a scanner thatuses the camera facility on your phone to scan both position tokensand personal bar-codes, (it doesn't matter what order you scan themin). When a pair of bar-codes (position and athlete) are collectedthey are stored on a local table that can be viewed via the'Results' section of the app. A stopwatch enables the user torecord an unlimited number of runners and outputs a file that worksseamlessly with the results processing servers. The stopwatch usesthe volume buttons to 'click' through results giving immediatefeedback and listing runners times as they are logged, perfect forchecking the times are in sync with the finish tokens. TokenSupport is a simple form to submit entries manually for thosebar-codes that don't scan properly. As all events are instructed toonly manually process results for those runners who have theirbar-codes but will not scan only these two fields are available bydefault. Additional information can be assigned to an athlete bytoggling the 'Details' button. This information, like that from thescanner is stored in a local table on the phone. The data loggedfrom both the 'Scanner' and 'Finish Tokens Support' is stored inthe same table so if required the same phone can be used to performtwo functions. When all runners results have been collected, datacan be reviewed in the 'Results' section of the app. The data canthen be either saved to a text file locally, sent as a text filevia email or uploaded to a dropbox folder. The text files can thenbe uploaded to the webFMS as you would the normal scanner textfiles. Note: only entries with both an athlete number & aposition will be uploaded. Stopwatch & Scanner has beendeveloped solely by a parkrun enthusiast and is in no wayaffiliated with the parkrun organisation or UKTT. Stopwatch &Scanner will only work on devices running Android 4.0 (Jelly Bean)and above. The app uses the device camera to scan bar-codes. Inolder devices the cameras tend not to be good enough or fast enoughto scan in a timely fashion. Permissions: We ask for permission touse your camera in-order to scan the bar-codes. We ask forpermission to store the files to your phone so that they can beeither emailed, sent to Dropbox or downloaded to your PC via acable.
