Howard Sattler has been a member of the Australian media for 48years.He started his career as a cadet journalist at the SydneyMorning Herald, where he achieved graded status, before he wascalled up for two years’ National Service.During his service hegraduated from the Officer Training Unit Scheyville, was promotedto Lieutenant and posted to WA, as Officer in charge of Army PublicRelations.After completion of his service he was recruited to be asenior reporter with Hancock & Wright’s “Independent” NewspaperGroup, where he was later appointed Managing Editor.He has been aregular columnist in metropolitan newspapers and online newssites.In television, he has worked at Channels 7, 9 & 10 as areporter, commentator, chief of staff, documentary maker andbulletin editor.He has been a regular commentator on Channel 7’s“Sunrise” and previously Channel 9’s “Today” show.During his 32years in radio he has been a news director, program producer andhost.He has been the recipient of five National Radio Awards,finalist on six other occasions, the winner of two New YorkFestival prizes and two international Crime Stoppers’ Awards.
