It is the native language of the Vietnamese(Kinh) people, as well as a first or second language for manyethnic minorities of Vietnam. As the result of Vietnameseimmigration and cultural influence, Vietnamese speakers are foundthroughout the world, notably in East and Southeast Asia, NorthAmerica, Australia and Western Europe. It is part of theAustroasiatic language family of which it has by far the mostspeakers (several times as many as the other Austroasiaticlanguages combined).[7] Vietnamese vocabulary has borrowings fromChinese, and it formerly used a modified set of Chinese characterscalled chữ nôm given vernacular pronunciation. The whole of the Guru Granth Sahib's 1430 pages arewritten in this script. The name Gurmukhi is derived from the OldPunjabi term "gurumukhī", meaning "from the mouth of theGuru".Modern Gurmukhi has forty-one consonants (vianjan), ninevowel symbols (lāga mātrā), two symbols for nasal sounds (bindī andṭippī), and one symbol which duplicates the sound of any consonant(addak). In addition, four conjuncts are used: three subjoinedforms of the consonants Rara, Haha and Vava, and one half-form ofYayya. Use of the conjunct forms of Vava and Yayya is increasinglyscarce in modern contexts.Gurmukhi is primarily used in the Punjabstate of India where it is the sole official script for allofficial and judicial purposes. The script is also widely used inthe Indian states of Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and thenational capital of Delhi, with Punjabi being one of the officiallanguages in these states. Afew manuscripts survive. In the twentieth century, the scriptexperienced a resurgence.Since the Meitei language does not havevoiced consonants, there are only fifteen consonant letters usedfor native words, plus three letters for pure vowels. Nineadditional consonant letters inherited from the Indic languages areavailable for borrowings. Nastaleeq (Nastaliq) plugin for Multiling O Keyboard. This is notan independent app, please install OKeyboard along with thisplugin.Instruction:⑴ Install this plugin and Multiling OKeyboard.⑵ Run O Keyboard and follow its setup guide.⑶ Slide spacebar to switch languages. Please email if you have anyquestions.Wikipedia: Nastaʿlīq (also anglicized as Nastaleeq; inPersian: نستعلیق nastaʿlīq) is one of the main calligraphic handsused in writing the Perso-Arabic script, and traditionally thepredominant style in Persian calligraphy.[1] It was developed inIran in the 8th and 9th centuries.[citation needed] It is sometimesused to write Arabic-language text (where it is known asTaʿliq[citation needed] and is mainly used for titles andheadings), but its use has always been more popular in the Persian,Turkic, and South Asian spheres of influence. Nastaʿlīq hasextensively been (and still is) practiced in Iran, Pakistan andAfghanistan for written poetry and as a form of art. However, it isharder to read than Naskh.A less elaborate version of Nastaʿlīqserves as the preferred style for writing Persian, Kashmiri,Punjabi and Urdu, and it is often used alongside Naskh for Pashto.Nastaʿlīq was historically used for writing Ottoman Turkish, whereit was known as tâlik[2] (not to be confused with a totallydifferent Persian style, also called taʿliq; to distinguish thetwo, Ottomans referred to the latter as ta'liq-i qadim = oldta'liq).Nastaʿlīq is the core script of the post-Sassanid Persianwriting tradition, and is equally important in the areas under itscultural influence. The languages of Afghanistan (Dari, Uzbek,Turkmen, etc.), Pakistan (Punjabi, Urdu, Kashmiri, Saraiki, etc.),India (Urdu, Kashmiri, Rekhta), and the Turkic Uyghur language ofthe Chinese province of Xinjiang, rely on Nastaʿlīq. Under the nametaʿliq (lit. “suspending [script]”), it was also beloved by Ottomancalligraphers who developed the Diwani (divanî) and Ruqah (rık’a)styles from it.Nastaʿlīq is amongst the most fluid calligraphystyles for the Arabic alphabet. It has short verticals with noserifs, and long horizontal strokes. It is written using a piece oftrimmed reed with a tip of 5–10 mm (0.20–0.39 in), called "qalam"("pen", in Arabic and Persian "قلم"), and carbon ink, named"davat". The nib of a qalam is usually split in the middle tofacilitate ink absorption. Two important forms of Nastaʿlīq panelsare Chalipa and Siah-Masq. A Chalipa ("cross", in Persian) panelusually consists of four diagonal hemistiches (half-lines) ofpoetry, clearly signifying a moral, ethical or poetic concept.Siah-Masq ("inked drill") panels, however, communicate viacomposition and form, rather than content. In Siah-Masq, repeatinga few letters or words (sometimes even one) virtually inks thewhole panel. The content is thus of less significance and notclearly accessible.Tips:This app is useful for exotic tattoodesign.
