Maroon 5 is an American pop rock bandthatoriginated in Los Angeles, California.[9][10] It currentlyconsistsof lead vocalist Adam Levine, lead guitarist JamesValentine,keyboardist and rhythm guitarist Jesse Carmichael,bassist MickeyMadden, drummer Matt Flynn, and keyboardist PJMorton. Before thecurrent group was established, the original fourmembers, AdamLevine (lead vocals, lead guitar), Jesse Carmichael(rhythm guitar,backing vocals), Mickey Madden (bass guitar) andRyan Dusick(drums), formed a band known as Kara's Flowers in 1994,while theywere still in high school. The band, which self-releasedan albumcalled We Like Digging?, then signed to Reprise Recordsandreleased the album The Fourth World in 1997. After thealbumgarnered a tepid response, the band parted ways with therecordlabel and the members attended college.
