Developed by air traffic controllers andinstructorsthis set of modules is unlike others as each are skillspecific.Module I allows students to practice and masterdirectionalvectoring on their own without the stressful environmentof atraining simulator.The first level of this module starts students offlearningsimple controls of the simulation and provides an idea ofaircraftseparation distance requirements.The second level of this simulator introduces aircraft totheairspace at varying velocities.The final 2 levels combine the above skills withcrossingtraffic.More advanced modules add wind, speed control, andaltitudevariation to the simulation one at a time, thereby allowingstudentmastery of each of these skills on their own.To be clear, this is not a "game". As an ATC trainingsimulationthere are times when this app appears slow or "boring".Welcome tothe real world of air traffic control. During these timesit isimportant for the student to remember that maintaining focusandvigilance is still an important requirement of the career.A stylus is recommended when using this simulation tomakeselection of individual aircraft and compass headingseasier.While this simulation will run on most android phonesandtablets, the minimum recommended screen size is 7".

The app focuses on Cree dialects of northeasternAlberta.It also includes an overview of the Athabasca TribalCouncil, aswell as maps and satellite images showing the locationsof its fivemember First Nations in North Eastern Alberta. Holding Pattern Calculator is a tool thatassists pilots in determining both the correct holding pattern andentry method (Direct, Parallel or Teardrop) for an ATC assignedholding clearance. Its simple design provides excellentvisualization of the aircraft heading in relation to the holdingpattern.To use, simply touch the screen and rotate to set the holdingpattern to the desired ATC assigned inbound leg. To aid inease of use, both the track of the inbound and outbound legs aredepicted. If the hold is non-standard (to the left) simply touchthe "Non-Standard" switch to depict the correct pattern. Thenselect "Heading" and rotate the aircraft to the appropriate headingtowards the fix.  The image may also be locked to protect thesettings from inadvertent touches by selecting the "Lock"button.The Holding Pattern Calculator is a useful and educational toolfor pilots, student pilots, and aviation buffs, and is not intendedto replace flight instruction.
