물에 뜨는 물체를 이용해서 부력의 크기를 가상으로 실험해 볼 수 있습니다. 부력의 크기는 물에 잠긴 물체의부피에비례합니다. 그리고 중력(무게)이 부력보다 크면 가라앉고, 작으면 떠오르게 됩니다. 학생들이 가장 많이 틀리는 문제중하나는 물에 떠있는 물체의 중력과 부력의 관계 입니다. 대부분 물에 떠 있는 물체는 중력보다 부력이 크다고대답합니다.정답은 부력과 중력의 크기는 같습니다. 물에 강제로 물체를 집어 넣었을 때는 물에 잠긴 부피가 커져서 부력이커지는 건데물에 떠 있는 물체도 부력이 더 크다고 생각하네요. 강제로 물체를 손으로 눌러 물속에 집어 넣었다 놓으면부력이 중력보다크기 때문에 떠오르게 됩니다. 물체가 수면위로 떠오르게 되면 물에 잠긴 부피가 점점 줄어들게 되므로 부력도점점 작아지게되고, 부력과 중력과 같아지는 순간 떠오르는게 멈추게 됩니다. 반대로 물 위로 물체를 끌어 올리면 부력보다중력이 커지게되서 물체를 놓으면 중력과 부력이 같아질때 까지 물속으로 가라앉게 되지요. 말로 설명하려다 보니 쉽지않아서가상실험프로그램을 만들었습니다. 마우스로 물체를 드래그 해서 물속으로 집어 넣어 가면서 또는 물 밖으로 끌어올리면서부력의 크기를 설명해 주면 됩니다. 금속의 경우에는 모양을 변화시켜서 부력을 변화시킬 수 있게 했습니다. 또액체의종류를 바꿔서 부력의 크기가 달라진다는 것도 설명할 수 있게 만들었습니다.(사해에 사람이 뜨는 이유 설명)생각나는데로급하게 만들다 보니 부족한 점이 많네요. 그래도 그냥 필요하신 분이 있을까 해서 공개합니다. * 한가지 더 :마우스오른쪽을 누르면 화면 일부를 확대하거나 축소할 수 있습니다. 부력에 의해 떠오르는 물체를 크게 확대해서 보여주면더좋울때도 있네요. *추가 : 줄이 달린 풍선을 이용해서 부력과 중력 맞추는 실험을 보여주고 프로그램에급하게추가했습니다. 풍선에 줄을 매달아 띄우면 풍선이 계속 올라가다가 중력과 부력의 크기가 일치하는 곳에서멈춥니다.올라갈수록 중력이 커지는 이유는 풍선이 끌고 올라가야 하는 줄이 점점 더 많아지기 때문이지요. 풍선의 크기를조절하면부력도 조절할 수 있게 만들어 추가했습니다.
