Moreover, the fieldtechnician caneasily execute a Wi-Fi Channel Map analysis (2.4GHzand 5GHz) and,as a result, determine the best placement for theAccess Point atthe customer’s location. Service providers can alsoqualify 1GEoptical connections based on SFP transceivers that aretypicallydeployed in business customers installations. The EX1 isthereforea must-have tool for troubleshooting activities that areexpeditedwith the use of its unique graphical views and featuresenabled bythe Wi-Fi Channel Map analysis function. The latestaddition ofGPON* qualification brings the EX1 to a new level ofadvancedtroubleshooting where it can emulate an actual GPON ONT.With thisemulation the EX1 is able to retrieve key stats which aidin theability to troubleshoot most GPON networks by providingmetricslike PON ID, ONU ID, ONT RX Optical power, OLT TX Opticalpower,ODN Loss, ONT operation status and much more. The EX1 testsolutiondoes not need a screen; all manipulations are handled viatheultra-intuitive application running on the field technician’ssmartdevice. All the required tasks are performed throughthisapplication: connection, setup, report generation,andcloud-enabled firmware upgrades. Moreover, test reports canbecombined providing residential and business customers theultimatebirth certificate containing all the information theyrequire. TheEX1 uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology whichenablesuntethered testing capabilities – connecting directly to asmartphone or tablet. With its unique BLE capability, fieldtechnicianscan be up to 100 ft. away from the EX1 tester, and notconfined tochallenging or harsh testing environments.
