John's Call List Widget Beta38
John Hemming
This widget was designed and written byaMember of Parliament in the UK who wanted to easily see a callliston his phone and phone directly from it without having to pressalot of buttons.A beta test version of a widget that displays the callhistory(call log or call list), but sorted by contact or phonenumber.Hence there is only one entry for each contact. Contacts canbedialled by tapping the contact. This dials the last numberused.Even if there are 20 calls in the call log that contactonlyappears once and once for the last call either in or out.It is designed to take up very little space on the homescreen.Only the contact name appears if there is one. Otherwise thenumberappears. This reduces the space needed.Green is used for outgoing calls, pink/red is for missedcalls(red not responded to) and blue is used for incomingsuccessfulcalls. The last three calls are coded on the right handside with hfor home, w for work and m for mobile. The time is coded :23 (for 23 minutes past the hour in thepasthour), 16: (for 4pm in the last 24 hours), Thu (for Thursday inthelast week) and 04/ (for the 4th day in the month - any month -morethan a week ago. This reduces the space needed for a time.It defaults to a small size, but is best resized up so thatthereare a good few names/numbers on the list.If you dial a missed call by touching the number it reflagsthecall log so that the missed call is no longer missed, but doesnotreduce the numbers of missed calls on the phone flag or at thetopof the phone. This needs to be sorted, but is currentlynotsorted. It identifies separately each missed call number and flagsallentries for that number, but not other numbers. Hence you cantrackseparately each call that you need to redial. If you tap the right hand side it looks for contact detailsforthat name of contact and displays all the numbers with theoptionof tapping on a number to dial that number. (It goes intothedialer rather than directly phoning). If you tap on the title "john's call list widget" it goes intoanalpha contact search with the use of the keyboard on eithersurname, firstname or both. On the right hand side of the title is"dial".Tapping on this gives the dialer. The contact searchprovides itemswhich when tapped go into the dialler. I may changethis later to gostraight to calling. The contact search gives allthe phone numbersfor the contact. There are three widget versions. The original one is 2*2.Thereis also a 1*1 version which is workable, but only just, thereisalso a 3*2 version which does not require such precise tapping, butobviously takes a bit more space. You can run more than oneversionat the same time, but it is best to load them at the sametime sothat they link properly. The 2*2 widget has been changed to have a transparentbackground. As some backgrounds may be a bit bright it is nowpossible toconfigure the colours used for each type of call insettings.Text messages will also be available on the basis of thelasttext message sent to or from the contact. This can beconfiguredfor all text messages or only the inbox and has apreferencesetting for how many days back to go (to stop lots oftext messagesbeing loaded unnecessarily).Options include shake to redial or phone missed call andsingletap for wifi and hotspot on and off as well as search andotherfunctions from main line. Normally tested on two columns(becausethat is what I use). Shake to redial only runs within a setperiodof the last call (defaults to 3 minutes, in settings)
