La palabra "salmos" viene de la traduccióndedistintas palabras de origen griego, las cuales,traducidas,le
dan los estos nombres: himno, oración, alabanza, composición ocantode alabanza hacia Dios y canción cantada
con acompañamiento de algún instrumento de cuerda. El libro delosSalmos está formado por un conjunto de 150 poemas compuestosparaser musicalizados. Éste es el libro más largo de la biblia yestáformado por cinco divisiones.

Los sabios cabalistas dicen:
"Aquel que viva día a día con unión al Señor, aquel que merezcaunirsu alma a él, y aquel que desee vivir en comunión con él, deberezarlos SALMOS con frecuencia y con devoción"
