Tät®III is intended to support men with pelvic floor exercisesincases where these kinds of exercises have been recommendedbymedical staff. Urine leakage upon coughing, jumping or sneezing–stress incontinence – is common after an operation forprostatecancer (radical prostatectomy). It is recommended thatpelvic floorexercises start before the operation is performed, andthat theexercises continue after the operation. The Tät®III appprovides apelvic floor muscle training programme in six basic andsixadvanced levels, with increasing severity. Four different kindsof“contractions” are described. The app includes visual aids foreachlevel of training, a statistics function and the ability tocreatereminders. The app also includes information about thepelvicfloor, prostate cancer operations and urinary incontinence.Thereis information about factors that affect incontinence. Studieshaveshown that urine leakage problems can decrease more rapidlywiththe help of pelvic floor exercises. The Tät®III app has beenshownto facilitate these exercises. The Tät®III app builds upon theTät®for women, which has been evaluated in several studieswithpositive results for the treatment of stress urinaryincontinence,see www.econtinence.se In order to follow the use,there arequestions integrated into the app regarding age, gender,education,residence (urban or rural), prostate operations, andurinaryleakage. After one month there are follow-up questionsregardingurinary leakage and exercises and it is possible tocomment aboutthe app. Three months after download follow-upquestions regardingurinary leakage, exercises and the app arerepeated. Answering thequestionnaires is voluntary, and entereddata is anonymouslytransferred to the research database. Theanswers cannot be tracedto a specific user or telephone number. TheEthics Review Board inUmeå has issued an advisory opinion, statingthat they do not seeany ethical problem with this study.
