You can submit your suggestions what calculations for theconstruction you need.The application is defined by dynamic change of units. You can fillin one units of measurments and get the results in another selectedunits. There are about 300 units possible. SMART math exercises for basic school pupils 2.0
The app is an easy-to-use math practice tool for pupils aged10-13,who are in elementary/basic School (grades 5-6) to build upmathskills, exercise creativity and critical thinking, sharpentheintellect and discover connections between differentSTEAMdisciplines. The app is intended to be used by teachersofmathematics to vary the traditional math lessons and presentthemathematical problems in an innovative, student friendlyandattractive way. The exercises contain real-life situationsandgamification elements to make the learning process moreappealing.To boost pupils’ motivation, an award system is used: foreverycorrect answer the pupil gets a star. At the end all the starsaresummed up to track the progress. The app can be used asasupplementary tool both inside and outside the classroomtodifferentiate and individualize the teaching/learningprocessaccording to the students’ interests and their levelofachievement. The exercises under this app are divided intotwocategories, called “Math” and “Eureka”. The exercises underthe“Math” category have been developed to meet the Mathteachingcurricula of the basic school programs for grades 5-6. Theypresenta variety of topics on the following areas: numbersandcalculations, expressions, equations and inequalities,geometry,measures and measurements, There is no particular order inwhichthe exercises should be performed, both teachers and studentsarefree to choose any exercise from the list which suitstheirteaching/learning needs best according to the area of focus.Theexercises under the “Eureka” category present mathproblemsinterrelated with other STEAM disciplines: Science,Technologies,Engineering, and Arts. These exercises are intended toboostpupils’ critical thinking and creativity. They tasks are basedonreal-life situations to make the learning more relevant.Likewisein the “Math” category, there is no particular order toperform theexercises. The titles of the exercises and theirpictures will helpto choose the topic. A considerable advantage ofthe SMART app isits intercultural context. All of the exercises andtheinstructions of how to use the app are available in 6Europeanlanguages: English, Greek, Latvian, Lithuanian, PolishandRomanian. In addition to this, the app offers a greatopportunityfor math teachers to design and develop math exerciseson theirown.
