The American Syringomyelia & ChiariAlliance Project, Inc. (ASAP) is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), membersupported organization, chartered in May 1988. Don and BarbaraWhite started ASAP as a grassroots
organization in their spare bedroom due to the frustration thatthey encountered when Barbara was first diagnosed. Since then ASAPhas become a nation-wide CM/SM resource serving thousands andsending tens of thousands of information packages to peoplethroughout the world. ASAP has been able to fund several researchprojects including the Duke Genetic Study.

ASAP’s mission: to improve the lives of persons affected bysyringomyelia, Chiari malformation and related disorders
while we find the cure.
