Banbhori (also spelt as Banbhauri) is avillagein Hisar (also known as Hissar) district of Haryanaprovince ofnorthwestern India. The place is known for its localdeity (Devi),which is worshipped by people who originally hailfrom around thatarea. There are families that have left the areagenerations back,and still come to worship the deity, especiallyafter new birth andmarriage in the family. Special festivities areorganised at thetime of Navratri.As the myth goes, the buriedidols of Devi Durgaand Bhairav were found together from thatplace.
Banbhori Dham is a holy place for all Agarwal Families. The Govt.ofHaryana has recognised the Dham as a sacred place and givenaautonomous power. This Dham will soon come udner theGovt.undertaking like other holy places like " Maa VaishnoDevi,Katra ,Salasar Dham, Rajasthan, Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh,"and manyother holy places of the country. The temple is a holyplace whichfulfills all the wishes of her devotees and all thosepeople whocame with honest and humble request to the temple. Allthe"Manokamna" of all her bhakts are duly taken care by the Devi.TheTemple at present is run by the local pandits. There aremanyDharamsalas at Banbhori Dham where the outside people can stayandget all the necessary informations about their KUL-DEVI. Thisisdone at a very nominal charge. The day to daynecessaryrequirements are duly taken care by these Rest Houses. Thetempleis open throughout the day.
Banbhori Dham is a religious Temple where all the Agarwalfamiliescome to take the blessings of their KUL DEVI. There are notonlyAgarwals but all people of all caste comes to the Temple andtakethe blessings of the Devi.
