Mobile app for foreign students & guests of the MedicalUniversity of Bialystok

The myMUB mobile application is a tool meant to facilitatethefunctioning of English-speaking students, PhD studentsandscientists at the Medical University of Bialystok (MUB).Students,lecturers and guests from abroad often have problemswithacclimatisation, especially in a country with a distinctculturalbackground. Launch of the English-language myMUB mobileapplicationis aimed at improving the comfort of studying of foreignstudentsat MUB and comfort of the stay of foreign scientists andguests, aswell as their quick integration with the entire MUBacademiccommunity. In particular, the application is meant to easegettingaround the university campus and Bialystok for new students.Thisnew solution includes also essential information aboutUniversity,admission and many tips for students. The app is acomprehensiveguide for new students or foreign guests, includingcontact detailsof Dean’s Offices and MUB units, Welcome Centre,information ondormitories, student organisations as well as aboutcity transport,legalisation of stay, security and healthcare inPoland. Here,students have the opportunity to check syllabuses,class schedules,study regulations, and easily contact the EnglishDivision Dean'sOffice. Two useful tools are also available:exchange ratecalculator and schedule, a day plan management toolintegrated withthe smartphone calendar. Due to the fact that themobile appincludes tips and information about Białystok and thePodlaskieregion, the app could be also useful for Polish studentsof the MUBas well as students from other universities located inthe city.The myMUB mobile application is created as part of theprojectentitled "Internationalization 2.0. New quality in buildingtheculture of internationalization of the Medical UniversityofBialystok", implemented as part of the NAWA programme "WelcometoPoland". The program is co-financed from the European SocialFundunder the Operational Program Knowledge EducationDevelopment,non-competitive project entitled Improving thecompetences of theacademic staff and the institution's potential inaccepting peoplefrom abroad - Welcome to Poland implemented as partof the Actionspecified in the application for co-financing ofproject No.POWR.03.03.00-00-PN14/18.
