Download and install now CellularOne's new emergency alertsystem app and you will be notified of adverse weather conditions,extreme & severe imminent threat warnings, Amber alerts, andPresidential alerts. CMAS is a wireless version of the EmergencyBroadcast System. Who sends CMAS alerts? Most are sent by theNational Weather Service. Some alerts such as Amber alerts areprompted by local law enforcment. Do I have to have a smartphone touse the CMAS app? Yes. Currently CMAS is only available toCellularOne smartphone users. What type of alerts will be madeavailable to the public through CMAS? Adverse weather conditions,extreme & severe imminent threat warnings, Amber alerts, andPresidential alerts. Will wireless customers be charged forCMAS/WEA alerts? Wireless customers will not be charged for thereceipt of CMAS messages. Will CMAS track a person’s location? No,CMAS will not track an individual’s locations or personal data.This assures that authorities cannot collect any subscriber-relateddata.
