جامعة اليرموك هي جامعة أردنية حكومية (عامة)تقع في مدينة إربد شمال الأردن، تأسست عام 1976 بأمر ملكي من الملكحسين بن طلال وشهدت توسعاً كبيراً منذ ذلك الوقت. غير أن انفصالالكليات التطبيقة عنها تحت مسمى جامعة العلوم والتكنولوجيا جعلهامتخصصة في العلوم البحتة باستثناء كلية الحجاوي للهندسة التطبيقيةالتي أصبحت تمنح شهادة البكالوريوس في الهندسة التكنولوجية إلى ان تمافتتاح مجمع الكليات الطبية مجددا للعام الدراسي 2013/2014. وهي أولمؤسسة للتعليم العالي المعروف عنها بالنهج المبتكر في إدارة المؤسساتوتنمية الموارد البشرية والسعي إلى التفوق في البحث والتدريس في مختلفمجالات الفنون والآداب والعلوم الاجتماعية.تتمتع الجامعة بدرجة كبيرة من الاستقلال الذاتي. ويديرها مجلس الأمناءالذي يتم تعيين أعضائه بمرسوم ملكي بناء على تنسيب مجلس الوزراء. لايقتصر طلاب الجامعة على الطلبة الأردنيين ولكن هنالك عدد لا بأس به منمختلف الطلبة الوافدين من مختلف البلاد العربية ومن مختلف أنحاءالعالم.إن المهمة الرئيسية في الجامعة تنضوي تحت ثلاثة محاور، هي:توفير التعليم كنوعية لجميع طلبة الجامعة في مجالات تخصصهم وعلي جميعالمستوياتتشجيع برامج الأبحاث التي تؤمن الرفاهية للفرد إضافة لتلك البرامجالمتعلقة بالنمو الاقتصادي والتنميتعزيز الإثراء الثقافي وتوفير الفرص التعليمية والتدريبية لعامةالناس، وتسهم الجامعة بذلك في خدمة المجتمع المحلي والوطني والإقليميوالدوليليس من أهداف الجامعة تدريب الطلاب فقط بل الهدف هو أيضا تحقيق تفوقهمالأكاديمي وتعزيز الجوانب الأخلاقية والروحية الرفيعة لدى الطلاب. إنالثقافة العربية الإسلامية الغنية في المنطقة تعزز من جهود الجامعة فيغرس الكرامة وخصائص السلامة والشرف لدى الطلبة، الأمر الذي يساعد فيتقديم مساهمات قيمة في عالم الغد. وإدراكاً منها لأهمية التعاونوالشراكة فقد عقدت الجامعة العديد من الاتفاقيات الأكاديمية معالجامعات والمؤسسات في جميع أنحاء العالم.Yarmouk University is aJordanian government (General) is located in the city of Irbid,northern Jordan, founded in 1976, a royal order of King Hussein BinTalal, has seen a significant expansion since that time. University students are notlimited to the Jordanian students, but there are quite a number ofdifferent foreign students from various Arab countries and aroundthe world.The main task at the university falls under the three pillars,namely:Knuaah provide education for all university students in theirrespective fields and at all levelsEncourage research programs that provide welfare of the individualin addition to those related to economic growth and developmentprogramsPromote cultural enrichment and to provide educational and trainingopportunities for the general public, and thereby contribute to theuniversity in the local, national, regional and internationalcommunity serviceIt is not the goals of the university students training only, butthe goal is also to achieve academic excellence and promote themoral and spiritual aspects of high students. The rich Arab-Islamicculture in the region enhances the university's efforts to instilldignity and safety properties and honor of the students, whichhelps to make valuable contributions in the world of tomorrow.Aware of the importance of cooperation and partnership Universityhas held many academic agreements with universities andinstitutions all over the world.
