Description

Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) is anIndianTwenty20 cricket league established by the Tamil Nadu StateCricketAssociation (TNCA) in August, 2016. The domesticcricketcompetition is modelled along the lines of the popularIndianPremier League (IPL). Only cricketers registered in TamilNadu areeligible for the competition. STAR India will be thebroadcaster.

The objective of the league is:
To develop Tamil Nadu players to play competitive T20 matches
To provide a platform for Tamil Nadu players to exhibittheirtalent
To have sustainable model for developing infrastructureindistricts, and
To bring in new audiences to the grounds.

The TNPL is a franchise - based T20 cricket tournamentcomprisingof eight teams who will be competing against eachother.
