　日本生物物理学会第51回年会が2013年10月28日（月）から30日（水）の日程で、国立京都国際会館で開催されます。京都で年会が開催されるのは2004年以来9年ぶりです。例年とは異なり、10月末の年会開催となりますので、講義などのDutyをもっておられる方には少し不便をおかけするかも知れません。一方、10月末の京都は非常に気候のよい時期であり、ポスター会場でも暑さに邪魔されずに快適に議論ができると期待しています。
　京都年会では、生物物理学会が他の学会に先駆けて行っている英語化を踏襲します。一方、一般発表をすべてポスターとして、ポスターに英語と日本語が併記出来る環境を作り、Abstractの字数を少なくすることも行いました。このことにより、ともすれば異なる分野間での理解度が落ちるという弊害をなくし、また、Abstractにすぐ結論が出てくるようなトピック的な記述で異なる分野の研究者にもアピールすることを期待しています。さらに、シンポジウムは会員からの応募をすべて受け付けるとともに、生物物理学分野で大型プロジェクトを組織している研究者に積極的にシンポジウムを開催していただきました。その結果、現在の生物物理学研究のトレンドに会員の皆様が容易にアクセス出来るように考えました。
