Also while operating in servermode,theapplication can forward that information topeople/phonenumbersthat are interested inknowing about Tsunami Warning messages.When you operate as a server, you must havetheapplicationrunning so that it can access the RSSfeeds(Ifrequested, laterrelease versions may have the ability tooperate asa server in thebackground).When you operate as a client, you do not need tohavetheapplication running or be connected to the internet.Youdohowever, need to set the 'server' phone number inthe'client'settings menu. This is so that you can be alerted whenSMSmessagesfrom the server phone number are received.If you want to see the Tsunami event in the map view,thenyouwill need to have an active internet connection.Otherwise,justmake sure the phone that is operating as a server hasyourphonenumber entered into their server settings, so that youwillbenotified as a client, of any tsunami events via SMS.Youwillreceive an SMS message with that information.An example user setup:"Before visiting a pacific Island that is prone to Tsunamievents,Iwould leave a cheap android phone on the charger that hasaccesstoour wifi internet connection. I would leave theTsunamiWatchapplication running on that phone, and add the 'cellphonenumber'to the 'server settings' list of clients. This cellphonenumberwill be the cell phone number I will be using when I amonthepacific island. That way, I dont need an internetconnectionwhileI am on the pacific island because my android phoneback homewillsend me any Tsunami Event warnings by SMS if and whentheygetissued."Please note, that Tsunami warning messages can be issuedatanytime of the day as the Tsunami events occur.This application was not created by the PacificTsunamiWarningCenter(PTWC).
