In her restlessness andeagerness to join with Kannan, Sri Andal attempts various methodsby which she can attain union with Kannan which forms the majorpart of Nachiyar Thirumozhi. Among the Thirumozhis, Vaaranamaiyiramis very well known and has a special significance. It detailsAndal's Narration of her dream of her experiences with herthozhis(friends) on her way to achieve her purpose of birth(getting married to kannapiran). One can view Nachiar Tirumozhi asgodA devi’s advice to us on how a jIva in this life should dedicateitself single-mindedly to attaining the paramAtman. What we see atdisplay is the intensity with which this effort should beundertaken, and the impatience that the jIva should feel inachieving this objective at all costs, until the objective isrealized. In samskRt, this is called tvarA - it means unbearablehaste or speed. An example given to illustrate tvarA is a fish outof water that tries to get back into the water one way or the otherto save its life.
