The Swahili language is basically of Bantu (African) origin and themother tongue of the Swahili people. It has borrowed words fromother languages such as Hindi, Gujarati, English and Arabic. Theword "Swahili" was used by early. It is spoken mainly in AfricanGreat Lakes region and other parts of Southeast Africa, includingTanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Mozambique and theDemocratic Republic of Congo.
