Throughout his public life, both as an individual and as areligious leader, Pope Francis has been noted for his humility, hisconcern for the poor and his commitment to dialogue as a way tobuild bridges between people of all backgrounds, beliefs andfaiths. He is known for having a simpler and less formal approachto the papacy, most notably by choosing to reside in the DomusSanctae Marthae guesthouse rather than the papal apartments of theApostolic Palace used by his predecessors.
