Kelime-i şehadet’den sonra,İslam’ın birinci ve en büyük temelinamazdır.Namaz Müslümanlara has bir ibadettir.Diğer ibadetlerinmakbuliyeti ve ihlası buna bağlıdır.Kişi farz olan namazı edaetmedikçe kulluğunda samimiyetten uzaktır.Hayri Baba(r.a),ŞeyhiHacı Muhammed Baba(r.a) hazretlerine:“Bana namazı öğretirmisiniz?”demesi üzerine üzerine şu cevabı alır:“-Evlad!Evvelahakiki abdest al.Dışını su ile,içini tevbe ile temizle.Sonraseccadene var.Kabe’yi iki kaşının arasında,Azrail(a.s)’ıarkanda,cenneti sağ yanında,cehennemi sol yanında,sırat köprüsünüayağının altında diye düşün.Gönlünü hepten Hakk’a ver ve hakkıbil.Azametle tekbir al.Korku ile otur.Heybetle Kur’an oku.Tazarruile rüku eyle.Tevazu ile secde kıl.Zarılıkla tahiyyata otur.Allah’ısevgiyle selamla ki,İnşallah namazın kabul olur.” Allahu Teala(c.c)buyuruyor ki:“Kitaptan sana vahyedilmiş olanı tilavet et ve namazıdosdoğru kıl.Şüphe yok ki namaz,hayasızlıktan ve yaramaz şeylerdennehyeder.Ve elbette ki,Allah’ı zikir en büyüktür.Ve Allah ne yaparolduğunuzu bilir.(Ankebut suresi-ayet 45).”Rasulullah(s.a.v)Efendimiz buyurdu ki:“Allah(c.c) beş vakit namazıfarz kıldı.Kim bunların abdestini güzelce alırsa,onları vaktindekılarsa,rüku ve secdelerini eksiksiz yapar ve tam manasıyla kalbininamaza verirse,Allah(c.c) onu affedeceğine söz vermiştir.Bunlarıyapmayana ise Allah’ın verilmiş bir sözü yoktur.İsterse onuaffeder,isterse azab eder.” Hz.Enes(r.a)anlatıyor:“Rasulullah(s.a.v) miraca çıktığı gece,elli vakit namazfarz kılındı.Sonra bu azaltılarak beşe indirildi.Sonra da şöylehitap edildi:“Ey Muhammed!Artık nezdimde(hüküm kesinleşmiştir) busöz değiştirilmez.Bu beş vakit(Rabbinin bir lutfu olarak onmisliyle kabul edilerek)senin için elli vakit sayılacaktır.”
