Scroggle is a word game that combinestheplaying style ofBoggle and the point scoring of Scrabble.The player is presented with a 5x5 array of letters. Touchthe letters in sequence to form a word. The sequence oftouches must involve adjacent letters – adjacentabove, below, to the left, to the right or at any of the fourdiagonal corners. In forming a word, each letter can betouched only once.Each letter has a point value. The score for each word is thesum of the point values for the letters that were used.Inaddition,bonus points are awarded based on the number of letters usedin the word. Finally, if any of the letters used has aredbackground,the point value is doubled.When the player presses OK, the game checks its dictionary todetermine if the letter combination is a valid word. Ifso,theword is added to the players word list at the top ofthescreen.The used letters are replaced by drawing randomly fromavirtualpouch of letters. One game of Scroggle uses a total of100letters.At the top of the screen on both the left and right handsidesisa series of 3 dots. Touch these dots to see the lettersthatremainin the virtual pouch. Touch the dots again to return to yourword list.When the number of letters remaining falls below 25 theScroggle board will have empty spaces. The goal is to useall the letters to form valid words and clear the board. Butbeware – only adjacent letters can be used in a word.Individual letters that are stranded will not be useable(withthe exception of a, i, and o). Additional bonus points areawarded to the final score if the board is cleared.At the end of the game the player can enter a name. A listof scores is maintained for each user. Touching the player’sname in the upper right-hand corner of the screen showsthe availability of a Leader Board and an Achievements list.The Leader Board shows high scores across all Scroggleplayers. The Achievements list shows you various milestonesthat you have reached while playing Scroggle.
