Shiv Sena (Marathi: शिव सेना ) is aMarathichauvinistic and Hindu nationalist political organisation inIndiafounded on 19 June 1966 by political cartoonist Bal Thackeray.Theparty originally emerged from a movement in Mumbaidemandingpreferential treatment for Maharashtrians over migrants tothecity.
