Surat Diamond Bourse, a companyfloatedrecently by diamond barons, plans to invest INR 1.25 lakhcrore toestablish a new bourse here over a period of fouryears.Representatives of the company will submit a formalexpression ofinterest to the Gujarat government regarding theproposedinvestment during the Vibrant Gujarat summit:

- Surat Diamond Bourse was set up for the trade of roughdiamondsand manufacture of polished diamonds in a notified zonecoming up inthe Khajod area under the Dream City project on 4 lakhsquare metersof land.

- The purpose is to get buyers from across the world to visitthecity for business and execute transactions at one place.Theproposed hub will have 22 iconic and interconnected buildingsofmore than 20 floors and house more than 10,000 offices.

- One of the administrative committee members of SuratDiamondBourse, informed that there are total 12,000 members. Mr.Patelexpressed that it is likely to provide direct employment tomorethan 1.5 lakh and a total investment of INR 10 lakh croreisexpected.

- The Dream City project is being executed on the linesofGujarat International Finance Tech-city in Gandhinagar.GujaratInfrastructure Development Board will launch a specialpurposevehicle for this three-phased project in which Surat DiamondBourseis the anchor company.
