My name Is Efrat Rapoport. A few years agoIdiscovered the concept of "Fair Trade" - a worldwide movementinwhich people ask and demand to know whether or not what theyeat,wear and buy was produced in an ethical way. Ettica importshighquality clothes and accessories which were manufactured inasocially responsible way and follow fair trade principles.Etticais meant for those who want to know where their clothes camefromand who made them, and for those who want to make sure whattheywear is free from exploitation.

I personally select and closely inspect all the items I choosetoimport, in order to make sure they meet our social standards. Ofallthe exciting projects I got to know in the past months, I chosetobegin with a wonderful project which I call "PROJECT SCARF".Thisproject, which is currently offered for sale on ourwebsite,supports weavers in India and works towards making handloomaprofitable, fulfilling, sustainable and life-improvingactivity.The women, who are also provided with various educationalandmedical services, weave intricate hand-made scarves.

The women who are part of this project also activelyparticipatein decision making and business management. The board -in whichthe women take an active part - is responsible for makingdecisionson issues such as wages, training, appointing new weavers,socialsecurity programs and more. The board meets at least oncepermonth; each meeting takes place in a different village onarotation basis.
