Some devices do not turn the screen on whenreceiving a SMS. On devices with a LED (or other feature), this isnot a problem as the LED will blink to tell the user somethingneeds to be looked at.
Devices without this feature can now get a visual warning or cuethat a message was just received. Avoiding the need to regularlycheck.
